I left off here in early March, but I’m glad I have written something this month though! I do have another post in the drafts (all about our game nights and what games we are currently enjoying), and I’ll finish editing that this week and have that posted by the end of the weekend.
Just to recap what has happened so far this month and why I have been MIA:
- I got into a very minor car accident that has led to more headaches than you can imagine. Long story short, the insurance from the other party (which is a huge recycling company) had expired. There are a lot of calls going back and forth, and yes – I am also doing the calls too! Once this is all dealt and handled with, I can write a small blog post on that.
- We have been renovating for about 1.5 years now, but this month has been in full force focusing on all 3 main parts: kitchen, garage (turning that into a junior ADU), and basement (turning this space into the laundry room and adding a bathroom). The basement is also connected to our 4th bedroom, which we had turned into the gym. P’s parents were in town for a little over a week, and extremely grateful they were here to help us with the renovations.
We did hire out the plumbing part and that took them 4 full days! P said that was well worth hiring out and it was a good price overall. P is doing most of the renovation part, and I’m doing more of the organizing, cleaning, and cooking part. We took out the washer and dryer, so I’ve been going to the laundromat for that. For the cooking part, I’ve been using a portable butane stove. We also have a microwave, toaster oven, and griddle. Silly enough, it’s actually quite challenging to come up with meals that are simple and fast enough (the butane doesn’t last too long) to use on these smaller appliances.
If you would like to see more about the renovation, I have highlights on my Instagram. - It’s been crazy busy at work. I started a project late February and it just ended last week. Some projects are more straight forward and doesn’t take too much of my time, but this one was needed extra time and effort. I am expecting to be busy the upcoming months, because this project turned out really great and we will be continuing with it.
4. My birthday! Yay to turning 31 this month. I, unfortunately, did not think about writing a blog post for that day so I didn’t take great photos of the night/dinner. But every year, I do self-reflect and write in my notes how I feel. I didn’t do one this year yet, and I am thinking of writing a blog post on it instead.
Because it’s been so busy (no excuses though), I’ve also skipped out on my routine which includes working out, writing in my daily journal, and working on blog posts! I didn’t write anything in my daily journal in the month of March until the other day! :/ Bummer. But I’m back at working out every M-F, writing in my journal, and writing blog posts again. This has made me feel so much better and feel back to normal again.
That is all that I have to write today. Until next time!
